Call it part of it’s laid-back charm. Restaurants here operate on their own “schedule” and it’s always best to call ahead - ‘Cause if the fish are biting or there’s fresh snow, the schedule goes out the window.

A great little spot in Oquossoc Village. The wait staff and bartenders are always friendly and quick to share some local news and gossip. The atmosphere is relaxed with tables and booths, but the real draw is the menu. Ask about their specials, they’re always delicious.
Bald Mountain Camps

For an authentic Maine hunting lodge, this is as real as it gets. Nestled between Bald Mountain and Mooselookmeguntic Lake, this historic resort once hosted Teddy Roosevelt. Parkside & Main
If it’s sunny and warm, there’s nothing like sitting on Parkside & Main’s back deck with a Bloody Mary and one of their signature sandwiches. They have a nice draft beer selection and this Rangeley institution always has great specials and a fun casual atmosphere. In winter its intimate bar is cozy and the perfect place for a cup of hot chowder.

Classic Provisions offers a great selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, homemade pastries, and more—complemented by a variety of beer, wine, and gourmet items. They’ve also started hosting a chef’s choice dinner Friday & Saturday nights. Service can sometimes be a bit slow, but everything is delicious and made with care.
